Unus Mundus

Unus Mundus, in Latin, means "one world". The band Unus Mundus is a world of heavy rock and weirdness and rock n' roll attitude! Unus Mundus is a heavy metal/heavy-ass rock band from Northeast Georgia, U.S.A. Unus Mundus have been described as “Killing Joke on steroids” as well as “industrial sludge metal” and “space sludge”. Encyclopaedia Metallum lists Unus Mundus as "doom metal", "Southern metal", and "rock". Whatever... That works.

Dale Hilton, “The Heavy Metal Comedian,” says… “I finally heard Staring into the Sun. Dude that's angry monster metal!!! Fuck yeah!!! I love it. The solo smelled a little like GWAR. You guys sound like HIGH ON FIRE & MOTORHEAD got into a fistfight in the mud. It sounded like it should be in a MAD MAX movie.”

Here some others that have influenced the Unus Mundus sound as well (incomplete list): Sepultura, Black Sabbath, The Fall, Entombed, Sunn O))), Captain, Frank Zappa, Black Flag, Melvins, Son House, Dead Kennedys, Electric Wizard, Wire, King Crimson, Throbbing Gristle, Hawkwind, Eyehategod, L-7, Pink Floyd, Ministry, Miles Davis, Godflesh, Fudge Tunnel, Meth Drinker, Joy Division, Tangerine Dream, the Bar-B-Q Killers, Amon Duul II, shortwave radio, train tracks, ruins, elation, disappointment, the outdoors, women, animals, squalor, fantasy, reality, politics, philosophy, and open sores!
