Few places do breakfast as well as XELA PAN CAFÉ, located on Buford Highway just south of where the road intersects with I-285. Don’t miss the desayuno chapin, which is a hearty helping of yellow rice, puréed black beans, eggs, fried plantains, homemade corn tortillas, and a chunk of fresh white cheese. The restaurant seems to do a lot of take-out business for homesick people who routinely pop in for orders of Xela’s excellent rice tamales mixed with chicken.
