Local producer Skybison recently remixed a track from TheyungMatthew’s latest EP, Songs To Die To. Keith Williams of WAKE also remixed a track from the EP. Listen to the remixed tracks via Immersive Atlanta and stream last year’s Songs To Die To via Bandcamp.

Bang Trim is a new trio featuring Atlanta scene vets James Joyce (who recently interview Pere Ubu’s David Thomas for Crib Notes), Blake Helton, and Ben Coleman. On Fri., July 8, the group plays the Basement EAV with Action Beat, a U.K.-based group who has recently recorded with and are touring with Dutch singer G.W. Sok who is best known as the former frontman for the Ex. Opening Bell and Cave Bat also perform.

Heavy Eyes (featuring members of Femignome, No Clouds, Michael Cera Palin) have premiered a new single, “Away,” via Immersive Atlanta. Their next show is at WonderRoot on Thurs., July 7.

For Omni, July 8 can’t come soon enough. That’s when the group’s debut LP Deluxe comes out via Trouble In Mind. In the meantime, check out two covers the band recorded for Aquarium Drunkard’s Lagniappe Sessions, Alice Cooper’s “Identity Crisis” and The Boys Next Door’s “Somebody’s Watching Me.” Omni will host a Deluxe listening party on Thurs., July 7, in the brig at Argosy. Guest DJs Camille Lindsley of Art School Jocks and Adrian Barrera of the Barreracudas will also be spinning records.

While we’re on the subject of Atlanta rappers, if you won’t be making it to Denmark this weekend, you can catch a live stream of Young Thug’s performance at the legendary Roskilde Festival! He’ll also perform at the first incarnation of Texas’ all-new music festival Sound On Sound, which replaces Fun Fun Fun Fest. Big Boi will be there as well.

Andrew Bird recently announced a new web series, titled “Live From the Great Room.” It’s a series of performances from musical guests in his living room. Bird plays The Georgia Theatre on Mon., Sept. 12, with Gabriel Kahane.

Schoolboy Q recently released a new video for “By All Means (Part 1)” from Blank Face, out July 8. He Plays The Masquerade on Fri., July 15.

Bloomington’s Hoops plays 529 this Thurs., June 30, with Meat and Shampoo. It’s an 18+ show. Get ready by streaming their new single, “Cool 2,” via SoundCloud.
