CL editor Mara Shalhoup reads from new BMF book tonight

Don't let the snow keep you in tonight. Creative Loafing's editor Mara Shalhoup is celebrating the release of her first book, BMF: The Rise and Fall of Big Meech and the Black Mafia Family (St. Martin's Press) at Eyedrum with a reading/signing tonight (Tues., March 2) at 7 p.m.

The book is based on a series of articles written by Shalhoup in 2006 that earned her an Association of Alternative News Weeklies award as well as the Atlanta Press Club's Journalist of the Year award in 2007.

In addition to her reading, there will be DJ sets from Scott Morris (better known as Dookie Platters of Noot d’ Noot fame), and an art show featuring works from photographer David Stuart and multimedia artist Fahamu Pecou.
