See & Do - Special event: EAV Beer Fest May 21 2009
Sat., May 30
Though the Georgia heat will undoubtedly souse even your best intentions to remain standing, stay strong at this year’s EAST ATLANTA BEER FESTIVAL. More than 120 craft brews span the globe with offerings from here, there and everywhere, including locals Sweetwater and Atlanta Brewing Company; Shandong province, China, lager Tsing Tao; and potent, alcohol-laden alchemy from Belgium’s Abbaye du Val-Dieu Triple, Blonde and Brown. Last year’s philanthropic fest benefited community endeavors including SoPo Bicycle Co-op, East Atlanta Farmer’s Market, and Martha Brown United Methodist Church, among others. Remember, slow and steady wins the race. And if you don’t have what it takes to be a sober, responsible adult, well, there’s always next year. $30-$35. 1-6 p.m. East Atlanta Village, 1205 Metropolitan Ave. www.eabfonline.com.
