Comments about Bible class in public school

Comments posted on Fark.com in response to the passage of a bill that allows Georgia high school students to take classes on the Bible:

"I took a course on the Bible as literature in a New York State School in 1973. Why does Georgia feel they have to "pass a law" to allow it? I smell nefarious motives and political grandstanding."

"That's it, I'm moving the hell out of this state. I was born here and I grew up here, and I'm finally fed up with this shiat. You want to learn about the Bible? Go to Sunday school. I don't want my taxes spent on this. I don't care if it's Islam, Buddhism (which are conveniently left out of the law, btw), Rastafarianism or Pastafarianism — public school isn't the forum for it."

"I don't really have a problem with this, but I'd be even happier if the class were more of a religious survey type of thing. Heck, maybe if some people actually read the Bible, they won't turn out like all the other fundies down here in the Southeast."

"I await the day JEDI is taught in schools. To be fair, both camps need to be taught: The Dark Side of the Force and the Light Side."
