Prep your wine holding hand: The long awaited restaurant and music venue City Winery is now open at Ponce City Market. Atlanta's first urban winery features an intimate music venue able to seat 300 people, a 125-seat restaurant, bar, a large outdoor patio with enough room for wine fueled shenanigans, and a private event space. City Winery's opening week music line up includes Son Volt’s Jay Farrar on Mon., June 27, the Weepies on Wed., June 29, and Nellie McKay on Thurs., June 30.

“The opening of City Winery Atlanta has been a true labor of love, and I promise that it’s worth the wait," said City Winery founder and CEO Michael Dorf in a press release. "The excitement we’ve seen so far is a testament to the music, wine, and food scene in this city, and we’re glad to be a part!”

In the release Dorf also thanked Atlantans for their patience in dealing with the numerous permitting and construction delays that preceded City Winery's June 22 debut.

Executive Chef Jeffrey McGar has prepared a menu of "globally influenced, wine focused, and locally sourced cuisine with Southern flairfeaturing concert-friendly small plates and shareable dishes." Menu highlights include "seasonally rotating flatbreads, the Lamb and Beef Burger, and a "Dirty Martini" Dip with vodka whipped goat cheese, pimento stuffed olives, jalapeño, Benton’s bacon, scallions, and “everything” bagel chips."

Beverage Director Mani Gonzalez has constructed  a cocktail program that will offer guests a seasonally-inspired cocktails with housemade bitters and mixers, craft beers, and an expertly curated 400+ bottle list featuring City Winery-made wines which will also be available on tap, and handpicked selections from notable international purveyors will be offered.
