Channel 2 news anchor Jovita Moore died late Thursday night in Atlanta, just months after announcing on air that she had been diagnosed with brain cancer. She was 54. The cause of death was listed as glioblastoma, for which there is no cure. Moore started working at WSB-TV in 1998 and was promoted to the main anchor desk after the retirement of Monica Pearson in 2012, receiving several Emmy awards in the process. Her career in news reporting began with an internship at the New York Times. She is survived by her mother Yvonne Moore, who inspired her to get into journalism, and three children. wsbtv.com
