NEWS BRIEF: Atlanta Hawks throwing “Pride Night” party on Saturday
Hawks all in on social justice
The Atlanta Hawks are hosting their fourth annual ‘Pride Night’ at a game against Charlotte on Saturday, Nov. 20. The theme of the evening is ‘Allyship Teaches Love’ and Lips Drag Queen Show and rapper Saucy Santana will be the featured performers. Hawks’ VP Camye Mackey said in a statement, “This year’s Pride Night amplifies the importance of allyship, and we want the Atlanta community to know that we are allies to the LGBTQIA+ community.” The Hawks were the first local sports team to have a float in Atlanta’s annual Pride Parade, starting in 2015. The team also supports the work of the Human Rights Campaign, OUT Georgia Business Alliance and Lost-N-Found Youth. si.com
