Bill White, chairman of the Buckhead Exploratory Committee, is feeling the repercussions of re-tweeting content from VDARE, a known hate group. The tweet was swiftly deleted, but screenshots remain. White then posted that he had “no idea who they are.” VDARE is described by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a publisher of articles by “prominent white nationalists, race scientists and anti-Semites.” Buckhead cityhood opposition group Neighbors for a United Atlanta issued a statement saying: “Instead of promoting Atlanta’s legacy of civil rights, sustained economic growth, or its unbound potential, today’s action by Mr. White tarnishes Atlanta’s reputation.” reporternewspapers.net
