The War & Treaty, Buckhead Theater — Married couple Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Blount have been refining their gospel-infused soul, country, rock and pop for the past decade. They finally gained crossover recognition when 2023s Lover’s Game album received two GRAMMY® nominations. Its follow-up, Plus One, released a few months ago, is a sprawling 18 song set reflecting all the genres they touch on. Both have searing, captivating vocals and their compelling live show is a powerful and exciting throwback to the legendary soul acts of the 60s who left everything on stage. — Hal Horowitz

The War and Treaty, the husband-and-wife duo of Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Blount, blend gospel, soul, blues, country, and rock into a dynamic sound that has earned them critical acclaim and historic recognition. Originally releasing music as Trotter & Blount in 2016, they emerged as The War and Treaty with their 2017 EP Down to the River and 2018 debut album Healing Tide. Known for their emotional intensity and vocal power, they became the first Black duo nominated for both CMA and ACM Duo of the Year awards in 2023 and received two Grammy nominations in 2024, including Best New Artist. A biopic about their lives is currently in production.
