Art Over Dinner is a series of intimate gatherings with artists and the organizations that support their work. We collaborate with the chefs at HomespunATL and local farmers (like our very own Serenbe Farms) to bring a seasonal, multi-course meal and invite our guest artists to spark the conversation about art + culture.
Jack Michael is a trash man’s daughter and an instructor at Georgia State University. Her work in painting, textiles, sculpture, and printmaking explores trash, consumer culture, labor, and sustainability from an ecofeminist perspective. Through acts of mending, weaving, and ornamentation, she investigates the human domestication of wild environments and the industrial domestication of humans. When not in the studio or classroom, she is often exploring America on her motorcycle through extensive solo treks, gathering imagery, trash, and research integral to her studio practice.
