About Karcheik Sims-Alvarado, Ph.D.

Dr. Karcheik Sims-Alvarado, is a historian, curator, playwright, and Assistant Professor of African Studies at Morehouse College. She is the author and curator of Atlanta and the Civil Rights Movement 1944-1968, and has served as the civil rights historian and exhibition consultant with the Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm, Sweden. Presently, she is the historical consultant with Time magazine for the virtual reality exhibition, The March, featured at the DuSable Museum in Chicago, Illinois in February 2020.
