There’s something about the sound of a bluegrass band. The jangle of fiddle and banjo has an energy and vitality all its own, and a kind of melancholy too. The great bluegrass artists sang with a hint of weeping or wailing in their voices - Hank Williams singing “I’m so lonesome, I could cry,” or Roscoe Holcomb singing “I’m a man of constant sorrow.” We at Atlanta Master Chorale can’t pretend to be able to sound like the great bluegrass singers, but we can spend an evening with music that is inspired by the folk songs and hymns that arise out of the bluegrass tradition.

Performing with us will be the Chuck Nation Band. Chuck is a member of the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame, a two-time Georgia State Fiddle Champion, Georgia State Mandolin Champion, and a Louisiana State Fiddle Champion.
