Ceramic Workshop for Adults with Caddo artist Chase Kahwinhut Earles
From the venue:
Caddo potter Chase Kahwinhut Earles digs clay along the banks of the Red River between Texas and Oklahoma and tempers it with freshwater mussel shells. He hand-builds his pieces using the coil method, burnishes them with smooth stones, and engraves their carbonized surface after pit-firing. Spend the day with Earles learning the ways in which he both honors and regenerates Caddo pottery traditions and make your own ceramic pieces using clay he has brought with him from Oklahoma.
This program has been organized in collaboration with the Atlanta Beltline’s Art on the Beltline project.
Fee: $120 for Carlos Museum members; $150 for nonmembers. Space is limited and registration is required.
