BLUES HOLIDAY: The Atlanta Blues Society celebrates Christmas with The Trouble Tones and others, Dec. 11.
Sunday December 11, 2022 03:00 PM EST
Cost: $15,
CL Critic Hal Horowtiz Recommends: It’s an unusual venue for a blues bash, but if the professionals at ABS are involved, it’ll be a classy, top notch experience. Join other blues fans for the Society’s annual Christmas shindig. All the bands that won the Atlanta Blues Challenge will perform, so it’s a great way to get to know some of the top Atlanta talent. — HH

From the venue:

The ABS Holiday Party is our “Thank You” for being a member of the Atlanta Blues Society, We will provide a free meal catered by Fat Matt’s for all current members. It is also our Toys for Tots Drive and we ask that you bring one or more unwrapped toys so local children in need can have a gift for the Holidays. We hear from the North Pole that Santa may drop in for a visit.

And of course there will be Music — LOTS of Wonderful Music! The winners from this year’s Atlanta Blues Challenge will play for us — Youth Act: Mongo Pretty; Solo/Duo Act: Drew Ashworth; Band Act: The Trouble Tones! We will be presenting them with their prize money and we will be collecting tips. Please bring cash to put into the tip jars and please make sure to tip each act after their set. The ABS will match the tips collected for each of acts, so please be as generous as possible. This money will be used to help defray costs for their trip to Memphis, where they will represent us in the International Blues Challenge (Jan 24-28, 2023).
