Taught by his mother at age four, Jake quickly became a local sensation. His viral YouTube cover of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” propelled him to global fame. Shimabukuro has performed at prestigious venues like The Hollywood Bowl and the Sydney Opera House, and collaborated with renowned musicians such as Yo-Yo Ma and Jimmy Buffett. Nominated by President Biden for the National Council on the Arts, Jake is celebrated for his collaborative spirit.
