CRITIC’S PICK: Eddie 9V, Paul McDonald, Terminal West—Local boy is in the process of making good. Atlanta based Eddie has just released his third album for the award winning, internationally respected Ruf label. Although initially a guitar slinging blues rocker, his shift to a gospel-infused, Al Green-styled Southern soul on the recently released Saratoga is a natural and logical progression. Eddie has the pipes to pull it off without a hint of pretention. Blue-eyed pop rocking soulman McDonald makes for a terrific double bill. — Hal Horowitz
