Join us as Jeff Arnal talks with Artistic Director, Sue Schroeder!

Jeff Arnal is an American percussionist and the Executive Director of Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center Executive Director in Asheville, NC. He has been active as an artist, curator, and community organizer since the 1990s. In 2002, he co-founded Improvised and Otherwise, an interdisciplinary festival for emerging artists in Brooklyn, NY. In 2024, his duo with Curt Cloninger, Drum Major Instinct, performed at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, TN, and his trio with Ken Vandermark and Bonnie Jones released their debut record on Catalyst Sound. Arnal studied music with composer Stuart Saunders Smith and visionary artist Milford Graves and holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Maryland and an MFA in Music from Bennington College.
