Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Buckhead Theatre — It hasn’t taken long for Ingram to appear out of nowhere and grab the “next big thing” mantel in blues. The music needs youngbloods like him that are accepted by the oldsters along with the Gen Z-ers to keep blues relevant. And now with his Hard Road World Tour, Kingfish moves to the next level of playing larger more prestigious venues. It comes on the heels of Hard Road, the first release on his own label. He’s a combination of influences ranging from Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. But the best way to appreciate his talent is to watch him burn live. — Hal Horowitz
