Lord Huron

CRITIC’S PICK:
Sun., July 27
Lord Huron, Lee Fields, Synovus Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park — This is one of the odder concert combinations, joining retro soul shouter Fields, on in a late career roll, with Lord Huron’s atmospheric, often dreamy, retro-tinged Americana. Huron tours supporting a new, fifth album The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1, another pensive, psychedelic, windswept set that stays true to the sound which got them to headline this iconic venue. Some new songs push into more energetic instrumentation but the band latches onto a killer vibe when guest Kristen Stewart narrates “Who Laughs Last.” Its icy, hypnotic intensity merges the introspective approach of their most popular track, the melodic “The Night we Met,” (3 billion streams) with a crisp, detached swoon. — Hal Horowitz
