Paul Thorn, Chris Knight, Buckhead Theatre — Neither of these veteran Americana singer/songwriters could fill a venue this large on their own, so this pairing makes sense if only on a financial level. It’s also a terrific combination of two different talents working within the sprawling Americana genre. Thorn’s often humorous, witty storytelling with folksy melodies balances well with Knight’s darker, more aggressive approach that often describes the hardscrabble lives of blue collar folks in his home state of Kentucky. They have decades of experience and expansive catalogs of songs to choose from. Since both count John Prine as a major inspiration, a closing on-stage collaboration seems likely. — Hal Horowitz
