Ryan Bingham & the Texas Gentlemen, Tabernacle — Bingham is still riding his “overnight” popularity gained from co-penning the Oscar winning “The Weary Kind” back in 2009. But he hasn’t been resting on those laurels, releasing a batch of pretty great, unvarnished country-rocking albums that didn’t always connect with a larger audience. Some acting and occasional singing in the series Yellowstone kept him in the public eye and the 2023 self-played/produced, written and released, often dark and stark, Watch Out for the Wolf showed he wasn’t going to play any commercial games. He’s back with a clutch of excellent new Americana songs (one with typically cheeky lyrics even titled “Americana”) and in the Texas Gentlemen, a great band to support him. — Hal Horowitz
