An Atlanta, GA based punk/rock/metal band founded in 2004 by a group of college dropouts. They describe themselves as “purveyors of shlock rock” or the “antithesis of The Scene”. As can be inferred from their name, they are not overly focused on commercial success, nor do they take themselves too seriously. In fact, they play mostly for fun and free beer. Their anti-commercial stance has actually helped them to become more successful as they are a well respected band in the Atlanta area. They have been known to give their CDs away for free and have a dedicated fanbase despite a general lack of marketing. Local Atlanta media has ranked The Vaginas as #2 on a list of “Worst Band Names”.
