The BACH BOWL is back! Our annual pre-Super Bowl celebration of the greatest Quarter(note)Bach in history, Johann Sebastian, is next Sunday Feb. 11 at 4 p.m. in beautiful Emerson Concert Hall at the Schwartz Center. A one-hour program so you’ll have plenty of time to catch the game after. The magnificent Jaeckel Organ is featured in Liszt’s monumental Fantasy on B-A-C-H performed by Alan Morrison, one of the world’s great organists; violinist Helen Kim plays the Chaconne, and Vijay Venkatesh plays Busoni’s brilliant transcription for solo piano of the same. Got $$$ on the game? Come, and you’ll know the score before it starts!
Mr. Venkatesh will also give a public Piano Masterclass in Tharp Rehearsal Hall at the Schwartz Center on Sat. Feb. 10 at 10 a.m.
Both events are free of charge, no tickets or registration necessary, with free parking available at Fishburne deck.
