CRITIC’S PICK: 17th Annual Jerry Day ATL- Terminal West — Peace, love, hippies, music. Maybe the ‘60s are long gone, but for a few hours you can relive them (or just live them, if sub-Boomer age). Deadheads galore will be milling about enjoying nine different bands on two stages — all of whom will perform the music of Jerry Garcia/The Grateful Dead. Local jam band favorite Frankly Scarlett will be there along with Chattanooga’s St. Owsley, whose psychedelic, boundary-pushing jams are attracting an exponentially growing audience. You’ll also hear TheJohn Harris Band, The Lefty Williams Band, String “N Bones, Ol’ Matt Donald’s Farm, GR*FLDUDE’s Token Rhyme, Sweet Melissa’s Blues Revue, and the Amazing Mongooses. The organizers have promised that no song will be played twice, so you’ll get to hear some deeper cuts and the ooh’s and ah’s of an appreciative audience toward the song catalog that binds them. If not already a Deadhead, you may very well find yourself joining Uncle’s John’s band. --Shannon Marie Tovey
