CL RECOMMENDS
CRITIC’S PICK: WRFG Labor Day BBQ, Park Tavern—Veteran blues pianist Eden Brent (supporting a great new album) headlines WRFG’s 39th annual Labor Day blues throwdown. It’s the station’s biggest and best attended roots event, a yearly highlight where fans of long-running blues programming get to mingle with each other. Also appearing are high-profile Atlanta acts like Uncle Sugar, The Electromatics, The David Pippen Group and Shelton Poe. That’s a lot of bang for your buck and it goes to supporting RFGs ongoing commitment to blues. Not to be missed. — Hal Horowitz
